As I sit here drinking green tea out of my Alice in Wonderland mug, I can't help but be truly happy with my progress to date. I really feel like I'm living the life (I assure you this has nothing to do with waking up late every day and having no agenda most of the time). Really my unbounded happiness comes from the fact that I am diligently pursuing a goal for the first time in my life. Never have I been so driven to accomplish something - and that includes previous attempts at getting my weight down. I know it's only been (almost) 2 months, which I guess in the grand scheme of things isn't a lengthy span of time, but 2 months is 1.5 months longer than I would normally have followed through with my plans. I know that I have moments of weakness but being able to come to terms with my mistakes and realize that I am, after all, only human has probably been one of the key mantras that have helped me to really push through these last couple of months. I need to hold on to these thoughts and ideas because I still have a pretty long way to go, and I really want to see this through to the end! All that being said, here is what I ate today:
Breakfast:
-1 (pack of 2) Trader Joe's granola bars
*Great for when I have to run out of the house (like I did this morning)
Lunch:
-1 turkey burger on a whole grain bun with 1/4c fat free cheddar cheese & 1 tbsp ketchup
*Good, turkey burgers are pretty plain though, aren't they! Took me this long to realize it...Also, fat free cheese doesn't actually taste like anything!
Snack:
-1 cup of coffee with a few tablespoons (eyeballed it?) of fat-free nondairy creamer
*I threw out 2 cups of coffee before I finally settled on this one. The first one had hazlenut creamer in it, shoprite brand, some of the most disgusting creamer i've ever tasted, so that went down the drain. The second one had sugar-free creamer in it, which apparently is sweetened with splenda (the sweetener of the devil) so i threw that one out too...the third was tolerable!
-a few tablespoons of pure hummus with some bell pepper slices and baby carrots
*This was great...my friend buys pure, unadulterated hummus from the store...literally the only ingredients are ground chick peas, tahini salt and pepper. I'm lucky she had this, because i was THIS CLOSE to tearing into the bag of oreos she had sitting on her counter.
Dinner:
-3oz plain grilled chicken (seasoned myself with spices & onions) with 1tbsp trader joe's bbq sauce and 1/4c fat free cheddar cheese
*This. Was. So. Good. A recipe to remember!
-1 serving trader joe's mashed potatoes
*Complimented the chicken perfectly.
Snack:
-1 greek yogurt with 1 ground up granola bar
*The granola bar added a nice crunch!
-1 mug of hot, unsweetened green tea
*Need to remember to make this! I slacked for a while.
Water:
-2 bottles
Great day, really liked the meals I made, a friend told me today that they make turkey keilbasa and sell it at shop rite so i'm all about that right now...going to make sure to get some this week! She made herself mac 'n cheese with slices of the sausage in it and it looked amazing! That's another thing I have to add to my shopping list for this week!
